Quick Tip #39 – When the next challenge presents itself, are you going to to React or Respond?

When you’re faced with a challenge in your business, how do you handle it? Do you get angry, frustrated, sad? Maybe you snap pencils, throw folders to the ground or kick the garbage can.

Or do you take a deep breath, walk out of the room and close your eyes for 5 seconds to collect your thoughts before walking back in to tackle the problem?

Ya, it feels great to give a swift kick to the nearest object when things go wrong, but reacting to a problem isn’t going to fix it now or prevent it from happening again.

When you respond to a problem – when you are able to look at the issue, fix the issue, pivot and try again. Seems like a far better way to get ahead in business.
