What if I told you that if you’re training your staff in customer service, it’s a waste of time?
Most restaurants pick a day or two out of the year and decide that it’s time to do some training on customer service, but the problem is that customer service isn’t something that can be taught in a workshop.
Customer service isn’t something you do, it’s a culture and mindset.
Your restaurant is either of the service mindset or it’s not. There’s no in between, there’s no grey areas. It’s not something that you excel at on certain days.
If you know that your only job as a restaurant is to ensure your guests expectations are exceeded, then you’re doing customer service the right way. If you have days (or worse, weeks) where you’re not so great at customer service, then you have to completely change the change the culture of your restaurant. Â
