“Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” – Thomas A. Edison
Well, I hate to break this to you, but it’s time to do the same with your restaurant business. You can’t be afraid to roll your sleeves up and get dirty!
In other words, if something is worth having and growing, you have to be willing to put in the work.
There is no substitution for hard work and there is no shortcut for success. Don’t we all wish there was – just wave a magic wand or give a little twitch of the nose and poof. But life (especially business) just doesn’t work that way.
That being said, while you are putting in the hard work, you also have to be on the lookout for the opportunities. Because if you are truly doing the work, the opportunities will find you. And that’s where the sweet spot lives.
Thank you for this week’s motivation, Mr. Edison!

Action Step:
Do you have a problem you are trying to tackle? It could be you have a restaurant concept and are looking for a good location. Or you aren’t seeing the profits you should be. Or you need to better train your staff. No matter the problem, the solution is the same. You have to tackle it step by step to avoid overwhelm. So take 10 minutes right now to sit down with a pen and paper and list out at least 2 steps you can take right now to solving your problem. And then continue your list with 2 steps for tomorrow, etc. Before you know it, the hard work won’t seem so hard!
