There’s two kinds of work – the stuff we love doing in our restaurant and the stuff we have to do to make it great. And you know what? Sometimes, it sucks.
The important work we have to do isn’t always easy or fun, but the people who are really killing it in the business are the ones who truly show up day after day; they’re the ones who wake up early and they’re the last to leave. They’re putting everything into their business.
Athletes love playing the game, but how long do those seasons last? They might play 20 times a year (unless it’s baseball, then they play like 200). The rest of the year, for their entire career, they’re in the gym and training every single day just to have those 20 days they get to actually play the game.
We don’t see all that boring, hard work, we just see the big win and the paycheck. Well guess what, it’s the boring hard work that is why they get the big win and the paycheck.
