There’s a saying – the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. The reality is, there’s always going to be someone out there who is doing something better than you. Don’t get swallowed into the black hole of feeling like you’re a failure. The restaurant down the street might be more successful than you are, and that 10 unit restaurant might have started 8 years before you opened your own doors. Don’t wallow in that feeling of despair – use it as motivation to figure out exactly what you need to do to improve.

Action STEP:

Take a look at a restaurant that you admire, then list the things that you think they are doing really well. Compare it to what you are doing and think of the ways that you can improve upon your current system.
