Is Your Restaurant Social Media ‘Friendly’?

Is your restaurant a ‘selfie safe zone’?

Just this past weekend, I saw a couple old enough to be my grandparents taking a selfie in front of a restaurant and then posting it Facebook.

In todays super social world, if your not getting the lion’s share of the attention online, your competition is.  It’s not just millennials that are snapping ‘selfies’ and sharing them on some new platform that we have never heard of.  It’s everybody, it’s everywhere and it’s no longer a thing we should be doing, but a must.  Remember websites like 15 years ago.  It was cool to have one, but you didn’t need it.  What about today, would you even think about opening a restaurant without one?

So, is your Restaurant Social Media Strategy making it easy and fun for your customers to share their experiences and help with your restaurants marketing efforts.

Restaurant social media goes beyond selfies, people are taking pictures of everything and posting them.  So why not set up some props to make sure they are taking pictures of what you want them to and sharing them where you want them to.

Below are a few tips and ideas I think will help put butts in your restaurant’s seats!

Take a look at what one famous BBQ restaurant in Texas is doing to encourage people to snap a photo and post it online for all their friends to see (the picture is obviously fake…but why isn’t it real, it should be).

Have a simple #Hashtag sign made with your hashtags…or just purchase a hashtag sign like this, then paint your hashtag next to it.

Get Creative on your Menu…and your Napkins…

Marketing is NOT something you do once, its always happening and everybody must help out.

Keep your guest funnel full by encouraging more social media posting.
